Taiga is continuously discovering and developing products to bring Canadian consumers unique botanical solutions for everyday personal care needs and to treat specific health conditions. Our idea generation process ensures a pipeline of previously untapped possibilities consistent with market needs and our strategic positioning and will also yield high returns to accredited investors over time.
Taiga’ proprietary product lines are focused on unique botanicals that bring natural, safe products to consumers and fulfill unmet market needs. Our current research focus is to harness the unique characteristics of geranium, cucumber and cornflower extracts and essential oils and bring these to consumers in personal care products and condition-specific remedies.
Taiga’s R&D is supported by world class research and development organizations bringing the depth of capability and knowledge required to build a robust pipeline of unique proprietary products. Our formulators are experienced and creative, ensuring results that have demonstrated the highest levels of efficacy in testing and are the best possible products for specific applications.
Our competitive scanning ensures that our products are positioned effectively and target specific unmet market needs. Marketing Plans are developed for each product featuring innovative communications techniques that create consumer pull through.
Taiga recognizes that the intellectual property assets it already possesses and those being developed represent a strong competitive advantage in the marketplace. Accordingly the Company has implemented an intellectual property management program, including capabilities to evaluate new inventions for patentability potential, capabilities to monitor third party patent rights and a contract administration program to ensure that contractual arrangements result in the accrual of intellectual property rights to the Company and eventual high returns to investors.
Taiga’s strategy in dealing with its regulatory environment is equally aggressive including:
- Expertise: Taiga contracts with industry experts to manage the challenges of the regulatory environment
- Diverse Revenue Streams: Taiga has a robust business model with diverse revenue streams, some of which are near-term including Max/Effects™ personal care line, while the OTC condition specific products are longer term and will require clinical evidence to support NPN numbers.
- Long Term Planning: Given the long process to get to market with a natural condition-specific product, Taiga is focused on the product planning cycle and is continually feeding the pipeline with new product ideas.
- Clinical Evidence: Taiga ensures that its condition-specific natural products will achieve strong claims and successful NPN applications by undertaking comprehensive clinical trials before bringing products forward for regulatory approval.
- International Regulatory Approval: Prior research into regulatory requirements in international markets ensures that our evidence meets these standards, which enables market expansion.
Taiga is aggressive in pursuing multiple routes to market. Our Canadian broker network specializes in placement and penetration. This network brings the experience to successfully drive product sales through Canada’s more than 8000 retail pharmacies. In addition to accessing the Canadian market with its branded products, Taiga is active in pursuing international markets, private label opportunities and licensing opportunities to maximize investor returns.
Taiga has received generous funding support from accredited investors, Alberta Agriculture and Rural Development, Growing Forward, IRAP and the Agricultural Policy Framework (APF), a federal-provincial-territorial initiative that aims to make Canada the leader in food safety, innovation and environmentally responsible agriculture production to advance its development initiatives.
